Did you know that with proper planning, giving to your church can benefit your family AND your community? This session will explore charitable gift opportunities that may help to increase your income, minimize taxes, and maximize your charitable impact. Giving techniques will be shared as options but no solicitations will be made – this is not a fundraiser.
This session will be led by Kyle Karioka. Kyle is the Senior Director of Gift Planning for The Salvation Army Hawaiian and Pacific Islands Division. He serves the mission of The Salvation Army by helping donors use their assets to make their desired impact in the community. These gifts may benefit donors by increasing income and reducing taxes while helping neighbors in need in through The Salvation Army. He also provides mentorship and coaching to a team of five other Directors of Gift Planning on the West Coast.
Kyle has fourteen years of fund development experience, previously serving as the primary local fundraiser for Special Olympics Hawaii. He is a past President of the Hawaii Gift Planning Council. He was born and raised in Wahiawa and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He holds a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) designation from The American College of Financial Services and is a Fellow of Charitable Estate Planning (FCEP) from The Charitable Estate Planning Institute.
