Coordinator of Community Life and Administration
Community Church of Honolulu - 40 hours/week
The Coordinator of Community Life leads the daily operations of our faith-based organization while reporting directly to the Senior Minister. The ideal candidate should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about working on a diverse team of people in a mission-centered setting.
The Coordinator of Community Life will work closely with the Senior Minister and lay leadership to plan and manage budgets, coordinate events, and liaise with all church relationships (congregants, tenants, leasing groups, the property management company, IT services, accounting services, the Hawaii UCC conference and all other organizational contractors). The successful candidate will exhibit excellent organizational and communication skills, have experience managing budgets, and a familiarity with the unique aspects of church organizational life.
Responsibilities:
Love and care for the community of Community Church of Honolulu
Manage the church's day-to-day operations:
Provide a presence in the church office during set hours (part of this job may be done from home)
Produce weekly worship aid in consultation with the pastoral staff
Manage the church’s website and social media, monthly newsletter, announcements, and other publicity
Maintain the church’s master calendar
Maintain the church’s digital filing system
Support bookkeeping, budget management, financial reporting
Aid in keeping records of gifts to the church, crafting thank you letters
Oversee facilities scheduling and serve as point of contact with property management firm
Produce relevant and regular reports to reflect the above
Supervise and manage maintenance staff and volunteers, as well as outfitting the church office with supplies necessary for efficiency and excellence
Liaise with colleagues to plan and coordinate special events for groups leasing the church property, including facilitating funerals and other church-related events. Be present or ensure the presence of another staff member at each event; i.e. funerals, weddings, and parties.
Maintain accurate records and files related to church operations, including membership records and other critical information
Work with the church leadership team to develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance church operations, promote growth, and dream bigger
Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited post-secondary institution or experience in related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in organizational administration
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient or capable of acquiring proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, Squarespace, Quickbooks, social media platforms and other relevant software programs
An understanding of and respect for the mission of the church
A commitment to a collaborative, team-based work environment where the staff models and expects respectful interactions at all times with congregants, volunteers, tenants, and any persons who enter the church property
What We Will Offer You
The base salary range for this role is $52,000-$66,000/year plus benefits. Amount varies depending on a candidate’s experience and qualifications, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Important Information
This is a full-time, exempt position.
While work schedules are flexible, team-wide meetings are often held between the hours of 9:00 am and 2:00 pm HST and we’re looking for a regular presence in the church office at least half a day, four days per week.
The selected individual must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
